It was in 1963 when the twenty four year old Italian hairstylist Angelo Sacco arrived in Canada with just fifty dollars in his pocket. With vision and determination Angelo opened City Men’s Salon which proved to be the anchor of his corporation. The original Salon was an authentic men’s Barber Shop at 68 King St just north of City Hall. Within years City Men’s Salon moved to its current location 15 Simcoe St South and became a full service establishment now known as City Hair Salon.
ANGELO HAS MADE HIS MARK! Don’t be surprised to see him at the age of 76 still working at City Hair Salon in his original chair. This Salon still holds a vintage feel from the décor to the dedicated staff that together has over 100 years of experience. Angelo considers this Salon to be the pinnacle first step in his ventures and thanks his entire staff past and present for their hard work and dedication to its success.
The Sacco Family is engrained in the City of Oshawa; Some of Angelo’s daily rituals include reading Oshawa newspapers in his chair and walking around the city, hands crossed behind his back checking things out. He continues to service his loyal clients which span over four generations.
